Covid-19 Update
Dear Hoboken Catholic Academy Families,
As of March 7th, Hoboken Catholic Academy will be mask optional in all aspects of school including afterschool programs and sports. This means that all staff and students, will have the option to wear a mask or not. The Archdiocese of Newark remains cognizant of concerns raised by school communities. The safety of our students and their families, as well as the faculty and staff remain our utmost concern. Therefore, until further notice, it remains the policy of the Archdiocese of Newark that masks will continue for school administration, staff and volunteers who have not submitted proof of full vaccination, as enabled by New Jersey Executive Order 253. School visitors and commercial vendors also are required to wear a mask in school buildings, regardless of vaccination status.
The lifting of mask requirements for our students means that HCA will remain even more diligent in our social distancing and disinfecting protocols. Students will continue to be seated in a 3-foot model within their classrooms and a 6-foot model for the cafeteria and snack time. We will continue disinfectant fogging three days per week. Our classrooms are outfitted with air purification systems. All hard surfaces including cafeteria tables, desks, door knobs, hand rails are disinfected several times throughout each day. We will continue to remind our students to social distance in our hallways and encourage frequent hand washing and sanitizing.Hoboken Catholic Academy, is reflective of the greater community. It is important for HCA families to understand that if infection rates in our area rise, we may have to reinstitute a masking policy. If necessary, this decision would be made in conjunction with the Hoboken Board of Health.
