Dear Parents and Guardians,

We were saddened to learn that Rosa Pasquale, PK4 teacher Mrs. Ferrara’s mother, passed away on Thursday. The viewing will be from 3-8PM on Sunday at Failla Memorial Home at 533 Willow Avenue, Hoboken and the funeral Mass will be on Monday at 10:00AM at St. Ann Church. Please keep Mrs. Ferrara and her family in your prayers.

Apparently, Mother Nature is not happy with our move to the Iowa Test, sending a Nor-Easter our way in the middle of our testing week. Students completed the third day of testing today and will complete the fourth and fifth days on Monday and Tuesday next week.  Make-ups will take place following the completion of testing.

Once we get through the next few weeks, we will determine how we will make up any snow days that exceed what has been scheduled.  We are currently one over and will have school on Friday, May 25th, originally scheduled as a day off. Hopefully that will be the only adjustment, but time will tell.

Our sixth, seventh and eighth grade students will participate in the National School Walk Out on Wednesday, March 14th with an AM prayer service in our courtyard.  We will honor the victims of school violence and pray for peace in a frequently violent world. Later that afternoon, our third through eighth graders will take part in a Penance Service at St. Ann Church and have an opportunity to go to confession.

I will be reaching out early next week to our parents who asked to be part of the School Security Ad hoc Committee. We will schedule of first meeting and keep you apprised of our discussions and any recommendations that come forward.

Finally, thank you to Mrs. Bartoli and everyone who helped her make our third annual family dance Night such a success. The children had a blast!

God bless you and thanks as always for your kind support.

Sincerely,
Matthew McGrath
Principal
