Welcome Back
Dear Hoboken Catholic Academy Families,
It is hard to believe that we are just a few short weeks away from the first day of school. The staff and I have been working all summer long and are looking forward to welcoming our students back to school. We are excited to see your family and can’t wait to hear about everyone’s summer adventures.
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce Mr. Joshua Balasa as our 5th grade teacher. Mr. Balasa is a familiar face here at HCA, he served as our technology teacher last school year. Mr. Balasa is completing a Master Degree in Education from New Jersey City University.
This year, we have made a great effort to provide our students with varied extracurricular activities. In addition to our Choir, Sports Teams, Chess, Bricks for Kids, STEM After Hours, Student Ambassador Program and Coding classes we are adding: Dance programs with Ms. Carmona (PK3- Grade 5), Bollywood Dancing, Yoga with Mrs. Ferman, and a Christmas and Spring Play with Ms. Campana.
This school year, we would like to get our HCA parents more involved in our school day. We are asking for parent recess volunteers. Volunteers will be interacting with and monitoring our students, along with staff, during recess at the Monroe field. If you are interested in becoming a recess monitor, please email Ms. Kokiadis, rkokiadis@hobokencatholic.org.
As a reminder, all students are expected to be in perfect uniform as outlined in the student handbook. In addition, we will be strictly following the late policy for all students. The student handbook can be accessed on our website. Rolling backpacks will not be permitted.
In order to provide a healthy and safe environment for our students, we will continue diligent cleaning of all high touch areas throughout the school building. The entire school building will undergo disinfecting fogging every Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings prior to staff and student arrival. addition, we will continue to use the air purifiers located in each classroom. Our air purification systems are capable of filtering particles measuring 25 nanometers, about ¼ of the size of the Corona Virus.
This Tuesday, August 23, 2022, you will be receiving an email with a link. The link will allow you to update your emergency contact information and will give you access to information such as class placement. If you do not receive this email prior to 12 noon, please contact the school directly via email, info@hobokencatholic.org.
I wish all of you rest, relaxation, and family time for the remainder of summer. All good things come from God. Keep prayer at the center of your personal and family life.
“Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow.” James 1:17
Sincerely in Christ,
Lisa Perez
